Our Booking Policy
By booking with Route One Automotive, you agree to the following:
Vehicle Condition
Please ensure your vehicle is reasonably clean and accessible before your appointment. The windscreen, dashboard, footwells and areas where equipment is being installed should be free from excessive dirt, clutter and personal belongings.
Safe Working Area
As a mobile service, we require a safe and suitable area to work around the vehicle. The vehicle should be parked on firm, level ground with enough space to safely open doors and work around it. We may refuse or rearrange an installation if the working area is considered unsafe.
Vehicle Access
Please ensure we have access to the vehicle, keys and any required areas such as the fuse box, boot or glovebox for the duration of the installation.
Existing Faults & Modifications
Please make us aware before installation of any known electrical faults, aftermarket wiring, previous dashcam installations or modifications that may affect the work.
Appointment Times
As Route One Automotive operates a mobile service, arrival times may vary slightly due to traffic, travel distances or previous appointments. We will keep you informed of any significant delays.
Weather Conditions
For outdoor installations, very severe weather may require rearranging the appointment unless suitable covered working space is available. Light rain is acceptable.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Where permitted by law, cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours may result in some or all of the booking deposit being retained to cover reasonable losses incurred. This does not affect your statutory cancellation rights.
Unable to Complete Installation
If an installation cannot be safely completed due to the condition of the vehicle, unsuitable working conditions, undisclosed modifications or lack of access, Route One Automotive reserves the right to rearrange or cancel the appointment, including retaining your booking deposit.
By confirming your booking, you confirm that you have read and accepted our booking policy.
Route One Automotive – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all products and installation services supplied by Route One Automotive. By placing a booking, you agree to these terms together with our Booking Policy and Warranty Policy.
1. Bookings
Bookings are confirmed once the required booking deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is payable upon completion of the installation unless otherwise agreed in advance.
All prices shown or quoted are in pounds sterling (£) and include any applicable charges unless stated otherwise.
2. Deposits
A booking deposit is required to secure your appointment.
Where a customer cancels or rearranges an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, Route One Automotive may retain some or all of the deposit where reasonably necessary to cover losses resulting from the cancellation.
This does not affect any statutory cancellation rights that may apply.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We ask customers to provide at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling or rearranging an appointment.
Where statutory cancellation rights apply to an online or distance booking, these rights remain unaffected by our 24-hour cancellation policy.
If you ask us to carry out an installation during a statutory cancellation period, we may require your express agreement for the service to begin during that period.
If Route One Automotive needs to cancel or rearrange an appointment, any payment made will either be transferred to the rearranged booking or refunded where appropriate.
4. Vehicle & Working Area
The customer is responsible for providing a reasonably clean vehicle and a safe, suitable working area.
The vehicle must be parked on firm, level ground with sufficient space to safely access the doors, interior and other areas required for installation.
Route One Automotive reserves the right to refuse, postpone or rearrange work where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
Full requirements are set out in our Booking Policy.
5. Vehicle Access
The customer must provide access to the vehicle, vehicle keys and any areas reasonably required to complete the installation, including the fuse box, dashboard, glovebox and boot where applicable.
By booking an installation, you authorise Route One Automotive to remove and refit interior trim and other components where reasonably necessary to complete the agreed work.
All reasonable care will be taken when working on the vehicle.
6. Existing Faults & Modifications
Customers must inform Route One Automotive of any known electrical faults, damaged trim, aftermarket wiring, previous dashcam installations or other modifications that could affect the installation.
Route One Automotive is not responsible for pre-existing faults or defects that become apparent during or following an installation where they were not caused by our work.
If unexpected faults, modifications or vehicle conditions prevent the installation from being completed safely, we may stop the work and discuss the available options with the customer.
7. Products & Compatibility
We will take reasonable steps to ensure the supplied equipment is suitable for the customer's vehicle and intended installation.
Product features, appearance, packaging or specifications may occasionally change where manufacturers update their products. Any replacement product supplied will be of an equivalent or suitable specification unless otherwise agreed.
Some dashcam features may depend on the vehicle, mobile phone, application, software, GPS reception, mobile data or third-party services and therefore cannot always be guaranteed by Route One Automotive.
8. Installation
All installations will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
The exact installation method and cable routing may vary depending on the design of the vehicle, available power supplies, airbags, trim construction and other vehicle-specific factors.
We will not knowingly carry out an installation that we believe could compromise the safe operation of the vehicle.
9. Warranty
Dashcams supplied and installed by Route One Automotive are covered by our 12-month camera warranty and 12-month installation labour warranty, beginning on the date of installation.
If a covered product or installation fault occurs during this period, Route One Automotive will inspect the fault and provide an appropriate repair, replacement or rectification where applicable.
Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, water ingress, vehicle faults, tampering, SD cards, third-party modifications or repairs, or normal wear and tear is not covered.
Full details are available in our Warranty Policy.
Our warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.
10. Customer Data & Footage
Route One Automotive does not accept responsibility for the loss, corruption or deletion of recordings stored on a dashcam or memory card.
Customers are responsible for managing, downloading and retaining any footage they wish to keep.
Where an accompanying mobile application or third-party service is used, that service is subject to the provider's own terms, availability and privacy practices.
11. Memory Cards
Memory cards are consumable storage devices and may deteriorate through repeated recording and rewriting.
Customers should regularly check that their dashcam is recording correctly and periodically format or replace the memory card in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Route One Automotive cannot guarantee the continued storage or availability of individual recordings.
12. Liability
Route One Automotive will take reasonable care when working on your vehicle and will be responsible for damage directly caused by our negligence.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the booking was made.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the customer's statutory consumer rights.
13. Delays & Circumstances Outside Our Control
As a mobile installation service, appointment times may occasionally be affected by traffic, weather, previous appointments, vehicle access or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to inform customers of significant delays and rearrange appointments where necessary.
14. Complaints & Problems
If you are unhappy with a product or installation, please contact Route One Automotive as soon as reasonably possible so that we have the opportunity to inspect and resolve the issue.
Customers should not arrange third-party repairs relating to an alleged installation fault without first giving Route One Automotive a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle, except where urgent action is reasonably necessary.
15. Statutory Rights
Nothing contained within these Terms & Conditions, our Booking Policy or our Warranty Policy is intended to restrict or exclude any rights provided to consumers by law.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable under UK consumer law.
17. Changes to These Terms
Route One Automotive may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms applicable to a booking will be those made available to the customer when the booking is confirmed.
